Meet Dr. Sutton

Dr. James M. Sutton is a Board Certified Surgeon and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Hello, my name is James Sutton and I want to thank you for choosing our office. I understand that undergoing a surgical procedure can cause a great deal of stress and anxiety.  My promise to you is that the staff and I will work hard to alleviate those fears and ensure that you have the best surgical experience possible. We will treat you as we would want our families to be treated.

I grew up in Louisville and attended the University of Louisville and graduated with a degree in Biology in 1993.  I also graduated from the Army ROTC program with honors and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Army.  I am a recipient of the George C. Marshall Award and attended both Airborne School and the Army’s Combat Casualty Care Course.  After completing Dental School at the University of Louisville in 1997, I attended the Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at Fort Lewis, Washington.  This was followed by my completion of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in 2004.  I spent twelve years with my Army family treating soldiers and family members. My years in the Army gave me a great deal of experience in facial trauma, orthognathic surgery, dentoalveolar surgery, dental implants, and anesthesia.

I returned to Kentucky in 2009 and currently reside in Bowling Green.  It was an honor to serve in the Army and I have been fortunate to be able to return to Kentucky to serve the citizens of Bowling Green and surrounding counties. I have been Board Certified since 2006 and hold active memberships in the following organizations:

American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

American Dental Association

Kentucky Dental Association

Pennyrile Dental Association

American Society of Dental Anesthesia

I am currently on medical staff at both the Medical Center at Bowling Green and Greenview Regional Hospital. I am also an instructor with the American Heart Association for CPR/BLS.

In my spare time I enjoy fitness training and playing tennis.  I am a member of the United States Tennis Association.  I also enjoy shooting, hiking, fishing and the many outdoor activities that the beautiful state of Kentucky has to offer.
