Meet Dr. Sutton

Dr. James M. Sutton is a Board Certified Surgeon and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

He attended the University of Louisville where he earned both his Bachelors in Biology and in 1997, his DMD. Upon graduation Dr. Sutton served in the U.S. Army and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Ft. Lewis WA. In 2000, he was accepted into the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA.

Dr. Sutton completed his surgery training in 2004 and served at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital in Ft. Campbell, KY, and later as Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Winn Army Community Hospital in Ft. Stewart, GA. Dr. Sutton’s four years of residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery included specialized training in maxillofacial reconstruction, facial trauma, orthognathic surgery, dental implants, bone grafting and the extraction of teeth. Dr. Sutton was honored to be named one of the Top Dentists of America.

 Dr. Sutton joined Southern Kentucky Oral Surgery Associates in 2009. He keeps abreast of the latest advancements in oral surgery through his memberships in the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, Kentucky Dental Association, and Pennyrile Dental Association. He currently is on the medical staff of The Medical Center at Bowling Green and Greenview Regional Hospital.

Dr. Sutton and his wife Bethany have two children and a dog named Buddy. He is an avid sports fan and enjoys basketball, baseball, tennis, and running.
